Your Guide to Global celebrations
What do a tomato fight in Spain, a silent day in Bali, a goat parade in Norway, and World Chocolate Day have in common? They’re all part of the glorious, chaotic, beautiful way the world chooses to mark time, memory, seasons, and meaning. We believe every culture has something to teach us about how to gather, honor, feast, reflect, or just have fun.
Who’s Behind This
Hi, I’m Christa, a longtime explorer of language, culture, and quiet corners of the internet, and now, the roads less traveled. Growing up between countries gave me an early appreciation for how differently people mark time, meaning, and memory across cultures.
That third-culture perspective sparked a lifelong curiosity about the small and grand ways communities come together, from the elaborate festival preparations that take months to the spontaneous neighborhood gatherings that happen on a Tuesday.
I started Around the World in Holidays as a way to document how people mark life, seasons, and time not just through fireworks and feasts, but through quiet rituals, inside jokes, and sacred moments that reveal the heart of what it means to be human.
My specialties include:
This is part research project, part armchair travel, part personal journal, part celebration of being alive in a world that still finds reasons to dance in the streets (or fast in silence).
